About This Study
Whey Protein Phospholipid Concentrate (WPPC) is a byproduct produced during cheese production. WPPC has been found to be high in choline, a nutrient for a variety of body functions including cellular structure, brain neurotransmission, fat metabolism and many other biochemical pathways that are essential for optimal health. Over 88% of the U.S. population do not consume adequate amounts of choline. Postmenopausal women specifically have lower levels of estrogen that reduce their ability to make choline. Our clinical trial aims to increase understanding the bioavailability of choline in WPPC, the impact it has on the microbiome, and evaluate the effectiveness as a functional ingredient for postmenopausal women.
